Data sufficiency questions are unique and tricky. Most find it a lot less labor-intensive than the only other counterpart, problem solving. In my experience, a data sufficiency question can be both the easiest and
the most difficult question. You’re right, you could save a lot of time to concentrate on calculation in a problem solving question. However, unlike a direct calculation type of questions, DS questions prevent you
from being sure that you’ve come to the right anwer before clicking “confirm answer”. More importantly, ETS is quite creative in designing a tricky question. Luckily, more practices will help you master this
