1.Idioms. Memorize the following frequent idioms.
         - consider (always without to be or as)
         - not only....but also (quite easy one, though)
         - both.....and
         - bewteen....and
         - either...or
         - neither...nor
         - believe to be

2. When the choices split 3-2, which is often the case, should the majority govern? Maybe or maybe not! The group of 2 can be as likely to include the right answer as that of 3 can.

3. If you have to choose between a choice with “being” and the one without “being”, the latter is a lot more preferable. Remember that ETS does not like “being” at all and considers it redundant. You will choose a choice with “being” only if you’re forced to, that is when “being” appears in all of the five choices

4. Always observe the parallelism..

5. Avoid redundancy
    - whether or not                                                     =           whether
    - demand/insist/suggest (and others) + that +should =           always omit should

6. Singular pronouns include these words:
    - another
    - anything
    - each
    - either
    - every
    - the number of (while a number of takes a plural verb).
7. In comparison, make sure that you compare things that are comparable.
Ex. In addition to having more protein than wheat does, the protein in rice is higher quality that that in wheat,
with more of the amino acids essential to the human diet.
          A. the protein in rice is higher quality that that in
          B. rice has protein of higher quality than that in
          C. the protein in rice is higher in quality than it is in
          D. rice protein is higher in quality than it is in
          E. rice has a protein higher in quality than
    Analysis
We are talking about two things wheat and rice, both of which have protein (but with different quality).
          A. C. and D:The subject should be rice since we are comparing bewteen wheat and rice.
          E. implies that rice has both protein and wheat in itself. Illogic!
          B. does the right thing, saying that protein in rice is better than protein in wheat.
