First of all, a ranking is a matter of subjectivity. Don’t rely too much on these publications while some say it’s business strategy to increase their sales. Each camp has its own
methodology and assumptions in conducting a ranking survey, resulting in quite a significant outcome.
- US News: Quite an old and basically the very first publisher to see a business opportunity in education. It offers almost all of ranking fields.
- Businessweek: A niche but seems to play an increasing role for those seeking a place in b-schools. There is a very popular web board on b-schools. Most of the board
participants are, according to the GMAT scores they claim, overachievers.
- Financial times: An English publisher with some emphasis on b-schools in Europe.
