Sentence Correction

1. B. Obviously you can eliminate C and D when you see far more in the sentence. A is wrong since it illogically states that trade unions in the US encountered opposition more than the organization movements.... Our comparison is between trade unions in the US and those in other countries. E is not only awkward but also wrong with has in stead of have.
2. E. All choices have nothing to do with logic comparison,i.e., rate and wages. But A and B have problem with word orders, resulting in awkwardness and so does C. D unnecessary changes tense. We have E as the best choice.
3. B. The most concise. D and E are wrong as we need a present perfect tense here (see since?).
4. E. A and B need another as to complete the structure as..as. D is again illogically wrong to compare between wind resistance and air conditioning. E is better than C since it complies with parallelism by comparing between wind resistance created by....and that incurred by...
5. A. B and D are obviously wrong with he while E violates logical comparison. (we are talking about music not persons). C. incorrectly uses is since is cannot properly replace has in the leading clause.

7. B. If you have worked enough in this section, this question is relatively easy. A, with no further explanation, is wrong. We are talking about life expectancy, so that the appropriate pronoun is that. C, D and E are all wrong for a reason.
8. D. Without which, it’s not clear as to what delivers energy. A, C and E are eliminated. Does in D is required for clarity.
9. A. B, C and E are wrong with an inappropriate idiom (compared with). When you place a regular comparative and an irregular comparative together, always place the regular one first; it’s a matter of clarity since more in the beginning includes both populous and richer in its structure.
